I believe we all have the ability to reach our true potential, working towards self-understanding, authenticity, and a sense of inner peace. However, the environments we find ourselves in can impede our growth and mental/emotional state. Since birth, society has a whole has shaped us in how we think, feel, and behave. This approach may have helped us develop in childhood, yet as we age, we begin to realize who we are told to be doesn’t align with who we are now and/or who we want to be in the future. As a result, we find internal conflict between social expectations and what feels fulfilling to us as individuals.

I believe that the most important part of counseling is the relationship between the therapist and the client. With a relationship grounded in understanding and compassion, it is possible to rewrite the internal dialogues we tell ourselves in the presence of a nurturing environment. I do not judge who you are based on your past because I place value on whether or not you are living the life that leads to your goals and aspirations.

As a counselor, I’ve approached my practice through a trauma-informed perspective, strength-based CBT, existential therapy, person-centered, art/play, and sand tray therapy. I work with individuals of all ages who experience depression, anxiety, and adjustment-related challenges. I am also available to see clients at schools within the Oshkosh, Omro, Winneconne, and Ripon Districts.
