Wellness in Schools
We are excited to be able to work with school districts at no cost to them, and at no cost to district taxpayers to be able to meet with clients in their school on a scheduled basis. This cuts down on issues of appointment transportation, parent/guardian time away from work, and students' time outside of the classroom. We utilize the client's insurance company for billing and the school gives us a private area to meet (all meetings are at the discretion of the student as well as the parent/guardian). Being in the school provides district staff with an additional resource for mental health and substance abuse issues.
We also work with area schools by serving in a manner of consulting; through panel discussions, serving on district boards, providing teacher/staff development, and other task-specific contracting. We believe that the well-being of the school begins "at the top" of the system, encouraging staff self-care and education in order to prevent burn-out.
Two of our therapists, Lindsay Loewe & Christine Skoog, also developed a program (see side panel) called Project Wellness: Educators, that focuses on developing a strong foundation for educators/staff that is based on research and best-practices. Please contact them for more information about how to bring Project Wellness into YOUR district!
