Ashley Lamers

Hold Fast Counseling Services, LLC

My therapeutic approach involves recognizing and fostering one’s own strengths. We all develop ways of thinking, behaving, and coping to help us survive or reduce pain in certain situations. Problems arise when we continue to use those patterns in situations or at times when they no longer serve us in a healthy way. But change and healing are more than possible- we are hardwired to grow and heal. This is not to say we need to be “fixed,” but rather we can strive for healthier and more useful ways of living with who we are, what we’re facing, and where we are in life. Wherever you are in life and in your process, together we will approach it with dignity, honor, respect, integrity, and ruthless compassion. Keep hope alive, live with humor and humility, and hold fast to your dreams and authentic self.

Ashley received her bachelor’s degree in Women’s Studies and master’s degree in Professional Counseling at University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Her clinical interests include trauma, identity, sexuality, and issues impacting LGBTQ+ populations. She works with individuals across the lifespan in various areas of clinical mental health and wellness, such as anxiety, panic, depression, life changes, and stress. She is trained in Brainspotting, grief, assertiveness, Gottman therapy for couples, and mental health first aid for youth and adults. In her personal life, she loves animals (especially capybaras, otters, and cats), dancing (for fun, from the heart), music (especially hardcore and new wave), movies (especially horror movies), good food (world’s worst sweet tooth over here), and spending time with family and friends (enjoying all of the aforementioned beloved things in life, together).

Growing Oak, LLC

I am a licensed mental health and substance abuse psychotherapist. I hold a master’s degree in art therapy and appreciate being able to use alternative methods in fostering overall well-being. I am diligent in understanding research and brain-based practices to promote sustainability. I believe strongly in a systems-approach which looks at both external (family, friends, teachers, caregivers, community) and internal supports to help achieve well-being.

I utilize therapy approaches such as EMDR, ego-state, brain spotting, DBT, CBT, play/art, sandtray to achieve treatment goals for children and adults.

I currently serve on the Fox Valley Technical College AODA panel, the Ripon Area School District Odyssey Academy of Virtual Learning governance board, and the Oshkosh 4 Education board.

Thank you for taking the step into a judgment free zone so that you can have your best self!
